The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) has reactivated the virtual registration of trademarks and given the current world situation, the resolutions for granting trademarks, literary works and their certificates will be notified with a digital signature to the applicants.
The date and time of entry of the trademark application filed will determine its priority, provided that it meets the requirements established by the relevant law. INDECOPI has indicated that the processing of these requests will begin on May 7, 2020, the day on which the suspension of deadlines established by Emergency Decree No. 029-2020 ends.
EL INDECOPI REACTIVO EL SERVICIO DE REGISTRO DE MARCAS Y OBRAS LITERARIAS
VIRTUAL.
El Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Propiedad Intelectual (INDECOPI) ha reanudado el registro virtual de marcas y obras literarias. Dada la coyuntura mundial que nos afecta,las resoluciones de otorgamiento de marcas, obras literarias y sus correspondientes certificados serán notificados de manera virtual con firma digital a los solicitantes.
La fecha de prelación estará determinada según la fecha de presentación de la solicitud virtual,siempre y cuando se cumpla con los requisitos formales que establece la ley. El INDECOPI ha indicado que se tramitarán dichas solicitudes a partir del 7 de mayo 2020, fecha en la que concluye la prórroga de plazos establecida por el Decreto de Urgencia N° 029-2020.
