The Free Trade Agreement between Peru and Australia in force since 11 february 2020.

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will allow 96% of Peruvian products to enter the country of Oceania without a tariff.

An important point for Peruvians is that the agreement states that Australia recognizes pisco as a Peruvian drink.

Australia confirms that the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards Code  allows the recognition of Pisco Peru as a product exclusively made in Peru, no variation of the Code being necessary for the purposes of such recognition. Likewise, Australia should not allow the sale of any product such as Pisco Peru unless it has been prepared in Peru in accordance with the laws and regulations of Peru related to its preparation, and that it has complied with all applicable Peruvian laws and regulations for its consumption, sale and export
